For I know the plans I have for you, says the lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

When we hear the name Thailand, immediately think of the magnificent architectural in Bangkok, the beautiful crystal like beaches of Phuket, the elephant sanctuaries in Chiang Mai, the wonderful sunsets on the mountain of the North or the various colorful markets full of tourist from around the world, buying different types of handicrafts while tasting all sorts of foods that are unique to the region. Without any doubt, Thailand is a beautiful country, where everyone greets you with a big smile and the day seems to last longer. But behind every smile there is a story, most of the time with deep spiritual need. A culture where vanity may be seemed as indispensable and of high importance, families live in debt, while others are merely surviving and some who will sell their own bodies in search of a more comfortable financial situation.
There are regions of the country that are less known, less attractive to tourist, where resources do not reach most of the people and millions struggle to survive. In the mist of insecurities, there is a population of very young children that are growing with very little hope or no hope at all for their future. Some come from ethnic groups that are consider minority and are outcasts from society. These families are separated due to different reasons and the children are left at high risk.
In these regions that are not appealing to tourist, there are men and women of God that are sowing their lives to bring hope to future generations. One of those ministries is Hope House, working in the out skirts of Chiang Mai. This ministry houses children of all ages bringing them out of the danger and high risk of become victims of traffickers; providing them with a place where love flows. Care and education is a top priority but above everything, Jesus is glorified in all that they do. Most of the young adults that grew up in Hope House are now serving the Lord in different ministries but also impacting secular world with the love of Jesus. He said “So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.” It is our duty to pray to the Lord to send workers to the harvest but also to be willing to be one of those workers.
