Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation

Hi friends!

My hearts desire is that these words will be of encouragement as you continue to pursue Him, who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.

Reading the first chapter of Ephesians you will find what Paul asks in his prayers for the believers in Ephesus to receive the spirit of wisdom and and revelation (Ephesians 1:17). In the greek the word wisdom is "Sophia", according to Strong’s it is wisdom which belongs to men varied knowledge of things human and divine (Strong's G4678). Now, the word revelation in this verse is "apokalypsis" which means laying bare, making naked. A disclosure of truth, instruction. Concerning things before unknown. Used of events by which things or states or persons hitherto withdraw from view are made visible to all. Manifestation, appearance (Strong’s G602).

Paul continues to pray in verse 18: "That the eyes of your understanding will be enlightened so that you will know the hope of his calling and what riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints". I pray the same for you today. We need the wisdom that comes from Heaven so that we can live in such a way that pleases God and draws people to him. We know that we are foreigners in this world we are just passing through. There is a permanent home waiting for us in Heaven. Let us live in a way that brings him honor. He paid a high price so that you and I can have an abundant life. In addition to wisdom, we need revelation. The Word of God needs to be revealed in our hearts and that can be obtain as we yield to the Holy Spirit. He is the one who teaches us all things, leads us to all truth. When we allow Him to reveal the power of His word. Everything changes. Our confession will change, the way we conduct ourselves will change.

When I yielded, when I began to use His word as a mirror, I stopped confessing what others confessed, I stopped comparing myself with others. I did not allow current situations, tribulations or testing to determine who I was. And it was at the moment, I experienced freedom. I entered into the rest that He purchased for me.

I pray that you will have wisdom during different seasons of life. That you will have revelation of who He is and who He says you are. As you experience that, you will enter in rest. In the Rest that he perfectly designed for you as you walk with Him in the cool of the day.
